BOSTON - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have assigned rookie James Young to the Maine Red Claws.
Young, a 6'6" guard/forward, has appeared in eight games for the Red Claws this season and is averaging 22.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 32.6 minutes per game, while shooting 47.9 percent (35-73) from beyond the arc. He recorded a season-high 13 points for the Celtics against the Hornets on January 5 on 5-7 (.714) shooting from the field in 18 minutes and is averaging 2.8 points in 7.4 minutes per game in 12 contests with the team this season.
