Blue Jackets Assign Defenseman Frederic St. Denis to Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman Frederic St. Denis to the Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
St. Denis, 28, was recalled by the Blue Jackets on Nov. 3 and has picked up one point (1a) and logged 13:17 TOI in four games with the club. He has appeared in six games with the Falcons this season, collecting one point (1a) and four penalty minutes. During the 2013-14 season, he notched 26 points (9g, 17a), 32 penalty minutes and was +16 in 60 games with Springfield and earned his second appearance in the AHL All-Star Game. The 5-11, 188-pound defenseman has collected 115 points (28g, 87a), 156 penalty minutes and is +42 in 329 career AHL appearances.
The Greenfield Park, Quebec native has also registered four points (1g, 3a), 10 penalty minutes and is +2 in 21 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Montreal Canadiens. Prior to turning pro, St. Denis played five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2002-07, tallying 155 points (44g, 111a) and 199 penalty minutes in 285 games with Drummondville.
