Blue Jackets Acquire Ryan Kujawinski from Coyotes for Jordan Maletta, Monsters Trade Carter Camper to Tucson for Future Considerations

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Monsters, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Monday that the Blue Jackets acquired center Ryan Kujawinski from the NHL's Arizona Coyotes in exchange for center Jordan Maletta and subsequently assigned Kujawinski to the Monsters. Cleveland also announced Monday that the Monsters traded center Carter Camper to the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners in exchange for future considerations.

A 6'2", 201 lb. left-handed native of Kirkland Lake, ON, Kujawinski, 22, was selected in the third round (73rd overall) by the New Jersey Devils in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. In 24 appearances for the Binghamton Devils and Tucson Roadrunners this season, Kujawinski supplied 1-3-4 with 11 penalty minutes and a +3 rating. In 115 career AHL appearances spanning parts of three seasons from 2015-18 with the Albany Devils, Binghamton, and Tucson, Kujawinski notched 13-24-37 with 69 penalty minutes and a +11 rating. Prior to his professional career, Kujawinski logged 90-94-184 with 126 penalty minutes and a -3 rating in 231 appearances for the OHL's Sarnia Sting, Kingston Frontenacs, and North Bay Battalion spanning four seasons from 2011-15.

A 6'3", 220 lb., right-handed native of St. Catharines, ON, Maletta, 22, supplied 0-4-4 with 32 penalty minutes and a +1 rating in 28 appearances for the Monsters this season. In 104 AHL appearances, all for the Monsters, spanning the past two seasons, Maletta supplied 12-15-27 with 101 penalty minutes and a +4 rating. Prior to his professional career, Maletta tallied 82-109-191 with 278 penalty minutes and a -21 rating in 314 OHL appearances for the Windsor Spitfires and Niagara IceDogs spanning parts of five seasons from 2011-16.

A 5'9", 176 lb., right-handed native of Rocky River, OH, Camper, 29, posted 13-29-42 with ten penalty minutes and a -22 rating in 53 appearances for the Monsters this season. In three NHL appearances for the Boston Bruins during the 2011-12 season, Camper posted 1-0-1 with a +1 rating. In 428 AHL appearances spanning parts of eight seasons from 2011-18 with the Providence Bruins, Springfield Falcons, Binghamton Senators, Hershey Bears, Albany Devils, and the Monsters, Camper registered 84-227-311 with 110 penalty minutes and a -21 rating. Prior to his professional career, Camper supplied 69-114-183 with 85 penalty minutes and a +48 rating in 156 NCAA appearances for Miami (OH) University spanning four varsity seasons from 2007-11 and contributed 23-48-71 with 40 penalty minutes and a +24 rating in one USHL season with the Lincoln Stars in 2006-07.
