Senators to Host Women's Hockey Day

The Belleville Senators will host a Women's Hockey night on March 3 when they host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Yardmen Arena.

The evening will be punctuated by four-time Olympic women's hockey gold medallist Jayna Hefford, a native of Trenton, who will be on hand all evening long.

Hefford won gold with Canada in 2014, 2010, 2006 and 2002 and won silver in 1998. She also has seven IIHF World Women's Championship golds along with five silver medals.

In 2016, the Canadian Women's Hockey League introduced the Jayna Hefford Trophy which is presented to the most outstanding player of the regular season.

Hefford will host a meet and greet with local female hockey teams ahead of the Sens' clash with Bridgeport and will be available to take photos. She'll also hold an autograph session during the game, where she will be bringing her Olympic medals with her, and will also take part in the ceremonial faceoff.
