Sens Acquire Moutrey from Columbus

The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has traded defenceman Ian Cole to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a third-round draft pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and forward Nick Moutrey.

Moutrey, 22, will be assigned to the Belleville Senators. The Toronto native has three goals and three assists in 22 games along with 18 penalty minutes for the AHL's Cleveland Monsters.

In 136 career AHL games, Moutrey has 17 goals and 34 points all with the Blue Jackets organization.

He was a 2013 fourth round pick (105th overall) by Columbus.

Cole was acquired by Ottawa on Friday along with goaltending prospect Filip Gustavsson, a 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2019 third-round draft choice from the Pittsburgh Penguins as part of a three-team trade with the Vegas Golden Knights that saw Derick Brassard head to the Penguins.
