Delaware Blue Coats News Release

WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats (11-18), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, fell to the Windy City Bulls (16-16), 119-110, on Wednesday night at 76ers Fieldhouse. The contest marked the second game of a home back-to-back for the Blue Coats.

Ryan Anderson posted a career-high 19 points (8-15 fg, 3-5 ft) with 17 rebounds in 30 minutes for Delaware. 76ers two-way contract player Shake Milton scored a game-high tying 21 points (7-18 fg, 1-5 3fg, 6-7 ft) with five rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes, while Jared Brownridge matched Anderson's total with 19 points (6-11 fg, 4-9 3fg, 3-3 ft) in 33 minutes off the bench.

Windy City led 62-52 at halftime. The visitors shot 62 percent in the first half, including 9-15 from three-point range, and nailed triples at the buzzer in both the first and second quarters.

"I just think at the very end we were going to need something extra to get it done and we didn't have that," said head coach Connor Johnson. "And then the way that they shot it from three, we had to react and change our defense in a way that we weren't comfortable with."

Former 76er JaKarr Sampson posted 21 points (8-18 fg, 2-5 3fg, 3-3 ft) and six rebounds in 23 minutes for the Bulls before fouling out. Sampson notched his 600th NBA G League field goal and 1,500th career point in the victory. Walter Lemon Jr. and Kaiser Gates each added 20 points, while Gates finished with a double-double by adding 15 rebounds in 28 minutes as a reserve.

The Blue Coats now head out on the road for a brief, two-game road trip that begins on Saturday with a 9:00 p.m. meeting with the Northern Arizona Suns. The team returns to 76ers Fieldhouse on Thursday, Feb. 7 for Black History Month Celebration against the Long Island Nets.
