
Blazers Release 2012-13 Regular Season Schedule

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have released their 2012-13 regular season schedule. The Blazers will open the regular season at home on Friday, September 21st as they host the Kelowna Rockets and will raise the 2012 B.C. Division Championship Banner. The Blazers will close the opening weekend in Kelowna on Saturday, September 22nd.
The Blazers schedule features 34 B.C. Division games, 20 games against the U.S Division, 12 games against the Central Division and six versus the East Division.
A breakdown of regular season game nights for the Blazers:
Sunday - 7
Monday - 0
Tuesday - 8
Wednesday - 12
Thursday - 3
Friday - 23
Saturday - 19
Here are a few other highlights from the 2012-13 Schedule:
The Blazers home schedule is heavy on the weekend dates with 25 of the 36 games scheduled for Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings. The defending WHL Champion Edmonton Oil Kings make their one and only appearance in Kamloops on Tuesday, November 6th. All six of the East Division teams will visit the Blazers this season, while the Blazers will not play any away games in the East Division. The Blazers away schedule features one six-game road trip which includes five games before the Christmas break and one after. The hockey club also has two five-game road trips. The Blazers will go through a stretch in November of seven straight home games. The hockey club will play three games in three nights on four separate occasions this season. Kootenay, Calgary and Lethbridge will not play in Kamloops this season. The Blazers will host a rare Thursday night game in February. Thursdays have rarely been used on the schedule except following the Christmas break. The hockey club will make two treks to Alberta for a five-game trip and a four-game trip in October and December. The Blazers will play ten games against Kelowna, 8 versus Prince George, 8 versus Vancouver, and 8 versus Victoria.
