Kamloops, BC - General Manager and Head Coach Shaun Clouston announced today that the hockey club has acquired 2002-born defenseman Marko Stacha from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a fifth round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

Stacha is listed at 6'1" and 196lbs. The 19-year-old is from Ilava, Slovakia and played the 2020-21 season with the Giants where he played all 22 games and had a goal and five assists for six points.

"Marko is a solid two-way defenseman with experience in our league," commented Clouston. "We were able to watch him lots last season and really liked his game. With an open import spot, we thought this was a great opportunity to improve our team. We'd like to welcome Marko to our group," concluded Clouston.

Stacha played for the Slovakia Under-20 team at the World Junior Championships in Edmonton, AB in 2021. He was pointless in five games at the tournament.

He will join the Blazers in time for their first regular season game against the Prince George Cougars on Saturday, October 2nd.
