Baltimore, MD - The Blast hosted the Seawolves on Friday night for the first portion of a tough three game stretch in three days. The Blast were victorious 13-3.
The game got off to a slow start with teams exchanging goals in the first quarter. Juan Pereira recorded a goal for the Blast and Luiz Mota recorded a goal for the Seawolves. At the end of the first, the game was tied 1-1.
The Blast offense erupted for five goals in the second quarter. Juan Pereira recorded back-to-back goals to complete the hat trick and then Jamie Thomas, Jonathan Melo, and Mike Deasel found the back of the net for the Blast as well. At the half, the Blast led 6-2.
The Blast remained in complete control in the second half. At the 3:22 mark, Vini Dantas recorded his 29th goal of the season assisted by Lucas Roque. The rest of the quarter Dantas and Jonathan Melo controlled the game. Melo set up Dantas for a goal with a beautiful give and go and then Dantas set up Melo for his 11th goal of the season. Before the end of the quarter, Melo would find Dantas again for his third goal of the night to complete the hat trick. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 10-2.
Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela and the Blast defense would hold the Seawolves to a single sixth attacker goal late in the game. Victor France, Jamie Thomas, and Tony Donatelli added a goal in the final quarter to seal the victory. At the final buzzer, the Blast defeated the Seawolves 13-3.
The Blast were led by Vini Dantas who recorded 3 goals and 3 assists, Jonathan Melo who recorded 2 goals and 3 assists, and saw seven different players record goals in the victory.
The Blast hit the road for a game in Rochester tomorrow evening. Kickoff from the ROC Dome is at 7 p.m. EST. Watch the game live on MASL TV.
