LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Tropics will look to start a new win streak Saturday when Soles de Sonora visits the RP Funding Center for a 5:05 p.m. Kick off at the RP Funding Center.
The Tropics continue to lead the Major Arena Soccer League's Eastern Conference, despite Sunday's overtime loss in Milwaukee which dropped Florida to 14-2 this year, which snapped a franchise record nine-game win streak.
Sonora comes in at 9-9, third place in the Western Conference. They are led by Enruque Canez who is third in the league in points with 40 and second overall in goals with 30.
Victor Parreiras, who became the Tropics all time leading scorer last weekend in a 14-3 win over Rochester, leads the team in goals with 18, while Ricardo Carvalho leads the team in points with 36 (16 goals, 20 assists). Hugo Silva continues to lead all MASL netminders in goals against average at 3.36.
