
Blandino Hits Walk-Off Home Run in Bats Win, 2-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats (40-61) defeated the Gwinnett Stripers (59-42) by a 2-1 score at Louisville Slugger Field. Alex Blandino went 3-for-3 on the night with a walk-off solo home run, a double, and a walk.
The game was scoreless through four innings with the Bats getting the first run across the board in the fifth when Blake Trahan hit a solo home run. The score remained until the eighth when Adam Duvall hit an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1.
Louisville pulled off the win with a walk-off home run from Blandino. It was the first walk-off home run win for the Bats since Adam Brett Walker did it on August 28, 2017 against Indianapolis.
Louisville pitchers only gave up a combined four hits in the game between the six pitchers. Eric Stout started for Louisville, giving up one hit, walking one, striking out two in his 3.0 innings pitched. The win went to Joel Kuhnel (2-0, 0.79) after tossing a scoreless ninth. Matt Bowman was the other pitcher that didn't give up a hit in his inning pitched, walking one.
The loss went to Corbin Clouse (0-2, 5.19) with his only batter faced being Blandino in the ninth. Huascar Ynoa started for the Stripers, going 5.0 innings giving up one run on five hits, walking two and striking out three.
Louisville stays at home to continue the three-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers with first pitch set for Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez (2-8, 6.80) is set to pitch for the Bats and face off against right-hander Mike Foltynewicz (4-1, 4.57) for the Stripers.
