BILOXI, MS - The Florida Everblades (23-14-3) won their second straight road game with a solid effort, earning a 3-1 victory over the Mississippi Sea Wolves (17-21-3) on Sunday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum front of a crowd of 3,113. Everblades goaltender Justin Peters earned his second consecutive win stopping 28 of 29 shots.

Just as they did two games ago at Mississippi, the Everblades got off to a quick start with an early first period goal that held up into the first intermission. Just 3:10 into the period, Mike McLean was able to jam a loose puck at the right post up and over the arm of Mississippi goaltender Ryan Munce to give Florida a 1-0 lead. Kirk MacDonald earned an assist on the tally which was McLean's fifth of the season.

Trailing 1-0 entering the second period, Mississippi eventually tied the game at one with a power play goal. Mark Hurtubise cashed in on a rebound off the end boards after Lance Monych's shot from the left point sailed wide of the net. Hurtubise corralled the loose puck and slipped it inside the right post at 5:38.

The Everblades, who dominated the period out-shooting Mississippi 21-11, battled back to regain their lead midway through the frame on a power play goal of their own. Derek Damon notched his 17th goal of the season after one-timing a pass at the top of the right circle from Dan Collins past a moving Munce at 11:56.

The third period moved along with the score remaining 2-1 in favor of Florida until the late stages. The Everblades added some insurance with their second power play goal of the night coming with just 53.3 seconds remaining in regulation. Ernie Hartlieb took a centering pass from Damon and one-timed it from the slot past Munce to open a 3-1 Everblades lead.

The excitement of the game didn't wear off in the final minute as a pair of fights broke out in the final 45 seconds. McLean duked it out first with Ryan Menei landing solid rights to win the scrap, then five seconds later after the next faceoff David Cornacchia dropped the gloves with Mississippi's Chase Trull.

On the power play, the Everblades closed out night 2-for-5, while the Sea Wolves finished 1-for-4.
