Medicine Hat, AB - Washington Capitals prospect Garin Bjorklund made 30 saves to lead the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at Co-op Place.

Lukas Svejkovsky powered the Tigers scoring attack with a pair of goals while Ryan Chyzowski and Corson Hopwo added singles for the home side who built period leads of 2-0 and 2-1.

Hitmen captain Josh Prokop, with his team leading fifth goal and 11th point, supplied the Calgary marker.

Both teams fired 31 shots on goal but Medicine Hat won the special teams battle going 2-3 on the power play while killing both Hitmen chances. Brayden Peters went the distance in the Calgary net and finished with 27 saves.

Medicine Hat is now 8-3 on the season. The Hitmen drop to 5-6-1-0.

The two teams will resume their three-game set tomorrow, Saturday, April 3rd in a 7:00 p.m. start at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation before the finale back in Medicine Hat on Monday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m.
