TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Bisons host the Syracuse Chiefs in the finale of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field. With back-to-back wins of 17-3 and 1-0, the Herd looks for the series victory today. Tomorrow, the teams will travel up the I-190 for a two-game set at Alliance Bank Stadium.

THRUWAY CUP: The Bisons took a two-game lead in the 2012 Thruway Series standings. Buffalo is now 14-8 in cup games this season and is four games up in the loss column over the Chiefs (14-12). Rochester is in third place with a 7-15 record in Thruway Series games this year.

WHEELER DEBUT: RHP ZACK WHEELER will make his Bisons and Triple-A debut this afternoon. The 22-year old is the Mets' #1 prospect by Baseball America. In 19 starts with Binghamton (AA), Wheeler was 10-6 with a 3.26ERA. At the time of his promotion, he led the Eastern League with 117 strikeouts. He also topped all B-Mets pitchers with hits 10 wins and 3.26ERA.

MORE WHEELER: Wheeler was an Eastern League All-Star this season and retired a pair of batters for Team USA in the All-Star Futures Game in KC. In his last outing, he struck out a season-high 11 batters in a victory over Harrisburg on Tuesday. In 116.0 innings of work this season, Wheeler has allowed just two home runs. He's allowed just nine homers in 289.2 career innings.

SILKY: INF JOSH SATIN singled and walked last night to bump up his International League on-base percentage to .403. The mark is three points better than Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's DH Jack Cust. The last Bisons player to finish a season with a qualifying on-base percentage over .400 was INF Greg LaRocca in 2002 (.402). Satin leads the team with 102 hits and is second with 12 homers.

BISONS BITS: INF ZACH LUTZ has hit .347 (25-72) with six doubles, a triple and five home runs in 20 games since being activated off the disabled list on July 4...Last night was the Bisons' first 1-0 win since July 20, 2010 in Rochester...RHP FERNANDO CABRERA is one save away from being just the sixth Bisons reliever in the modern era to record a 20-save season. RHP Dale Thayer had 21 saves last year...Since July 1, C LUCAS MAY has averaged .339 (19-56) with eight doubles and a triple in 14 games.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (53-55) picked up a 6-2 victory over the Padres last night. Former Bisons RHP JEREMY HEFNER allowed just one run in six innings for New York. INF DANIEL MURPHY had four hits and OF MIKE BAXTER became the first Met to ever walk five times in a nine-inning game. Mets and Padres play again at 4:05 p.m.
