Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have acquired outfielder Jeremias Pineda from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for third baseman Danny Valencia. Pineda, 21, is currently hitting .421 (56-for-133), with nine doubles, three triples, 14 stolen bases and 20 runs scored for the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Red Sox.

The switch-hitting outfielder, was originally signed by the Red Sox prior to the 2011 season, and will be assigned to the Gulf Coast League Twins.
