PawSox Walk-Off with Win in Extra Innings

The PawSox defeated Lehigh Valley 6-5 in ten innings Sunday at McCoy Stadium. A RBI sac fly by Reynaldo Rodriguez scored Repko from third to end the game. Two walks put runners on base for the PawSox. J.C. Linares had a sac bunt that advanced Repko to third and Gomez to second. An intentional walk for LaRoche loaded the bases for Rodriguez who scored the winning run with a sac fly to center.

Lehigh took the lead 1-0 after an RBI sac fly by Michael Spidale that scored Jake Fox who was hit by a pitch to lead off. RBI double by Andres Blanco extended their lead 3-0 after two innings. The IronPigs added to their lead with a run in the fourth and fifth and the PawSox trailed 5-0 after five innings.

Linares put the PawSox on the board with a lead off solo homerun (5) and a 2-run double (5) by Mike Rivera cut the deficit to 5-3 after five innings. In the bottom of the ninth, Linares scored on a RBI double (1) from Reynaldo Rodriguez, and the PawSox trailed 5-4. Rodriguez scored on a wild pitch and tied the game 5-5.

Josh Fields earned the win for the PawSox after throwing a scoreless, two hit inning. jake Diekman took the loss for Lehigh. He gave up three walks and one run after facing two batters.

Starter Daisuke Matsuzaka declined to speak with the media after his outing and took the loss for the PawSox.

The final game of the series is tomorrow at 7:05 pm, at McCoy. Zach Stewart (2-2, 3.76) faces Scott Elarton (5-8, 5.06).
