Today's Game
Tonight, the Bisons host the Louisville Bats for the second game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). Buffalo is 5-5 in their last 10 games and have not won or lost more than two in a row since opening June with a four-game win streak and a three-game losing stretch.
Last Game (LOU 4, BUF 1)
Louisville's OF Scott Schebler had four hits, including three doubles, as the Bats opened the four-game series with a 4-1 win. RHP Roberto Hernandez worked a season-best 7.2 innings but yielded four runs in the loss. OF Junior Lake was 3-4 with a stolen base for Buffalo.
vs. Louisville (0-1)
This is the second of six meetings between the former American Association rivals. Buffalo will travel to Louisville Slugger Field next Monday. The Bats won the season series last year, 4-3, but the Bisons have the 247-185 advantage (.572) since 1985.
John Anderson
LHP John Anderson makes his second career Triple-A start tonight. The southpaw was promoted from New Hampshire (AA) last Monday and allowed five runs over six innings in a loss to Durham. Anderson also threw an inning of shutout relief in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader in Lehigh Valley.
A.J. Jimenez
C A.J. Jimenez has thrown out 15 base runners this year, tied with Toledo's Miguel Gonzalez for the best mark in the International League. Jimenez's 34.9% caught-stealing pct. is the 3rd best in the circuit. The catcher has also hit .341 (28-82) since May 10.
Ben Rowen
RHP Ben Rowen has not allowed a run in almost a month and a half. The reliever has made 15 scoreless appearances since May 8, a stretch that includes 21.1 innings of work, nine base hits and 17 strikeouts. Rowen has allowed just two of 18 inherited runners to score.
Matt Dominguez
INF Matt Dominguez has hit .353 (6-17) over a four-game hit streak with a home run, an RBI and three runs scored. Dominguez has 13 RBI in 17 games this month and is just three RBI (35) shy of DH Jesus Montero's team lead. The two sluggers each have seven homers.
Bisons Bits
The Bisons have scored and allowed 81 runs in their 19 June games. The team is a -4 (268-272) in run differential so far this year. Buffalo's 24-6 record (.800) when scoring first is the 2nd-best mark in the International League...Buffalo is also 20-14 in games decided by two runs or less. The Herd's pitching staff leads all IL clubs with 25 saves...
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (39-33) were off on Monday and will open up a two-game series against the Diamondbacks tonight at Rogers Centre (7:07 p.m.). RHP Marco Estrada gets the start, looking for his fifth consecutive winning decision. Toronto heads into tonight's game in 3rd place in the AL East division, 2.5 games back of Baltimore.
