Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in the second game of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). Last night, the Bisons dropped the opening game of their five-game homestand by a score of 2-1. Following this series with the Braves, Buffalo will play a two-game set against Syracuse starting on Thursday.

The Herd fell 2-1 last night in their first game against the Braves this season. The Bisons are just 1-7 in the last two years against Gwinnett, including a three-game sweep at home at the hands of the Braves in 2014. Buffalo has not won a season series against the Braves since 2012, when they went 6-2.

Randy Wolf

LHP RANDY WOLF will make his team-high 15th start of the season tonight. The southpaw surrendered six hits on June 23 in a 5-4 Bisons loss against Lehigh Valley. In 7.2 innings, Wolf allowed three runs (all earned), while walking three and striking out seven. He did not take a decision in the contest. Wolf is one of just seven qualifying IL starting pitchers to give up two or fewer home runs.

MattVP

INF MATT HAGUE's league-best .340 batting average is 20 points better than any other hitter in the IL. He continues to lead the way in hits (96) and on-base pct (.425). Hague is also tied for 2nd in walks (40), and in doubles (20), ranks 3rd in slugging-pct (.461), and is in the top 5 in total bases (130). He has played in all but one of Buffalo's 77 games this season.

Ryan Tepera

Since being optioned by Toronto on June 22, RHP RYAN TEPERA has made three relief appearances spanning 4.2 innings and has yet to yield a run. In 11 relief appearances with Buffalo this season, Tepera has allowed just one earned run for a 0.44 ERA (20.1 IP).

Bisons Bits

Last night's game marked Buffalo's 29th one-run game. They are a league-worst 9-20 in such games...The Herd will play 15 of its next 21 games at home...Hitting Coach Richie Hebner will continue serving as the team's manager for the next three days as Gary Allenson will take his Blue Jays-mandated four-day break.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (41-37) fell to the Boston Red Sox last night by a score of 3-1. RHP R.A. Dickey threw 6.0 innings of three-run ball. The knuckle-baller walked three and struck-out three. Toronto was limited to just one run on a Josh Donaldson RBI double. The Blue Jays continue their four-game series with the Red Sox tonight at Rogers Centre (7:07 p.m.).
