Syracuse Mets News Release

Louisville, KY (June 30, 2015) - The Syracuse Chiefs dropped the second game of a three-game series to the Louisville Bats, 4-0, Tuesday night at Louisville Slugger Field. Kristopher Negron homered and Irving Falu drove in two as the Bats returned the favor after the Chiefs shut out Louisville Monday night.

Louisville (39-40) scored first on Negron's first-inning home run off Chiefs starter Taylor Jordan. The Bats pushed across two more runs in the second. Chris Dominguez singled with one out and Ramon Cabrera walked. After a sacrifice bunt moved the runners up, Dominguez left the game with an apparent injury and was replaced by Jermaine Curtis. Irving Falu then singled home both runners to stretch the Bats lead to 3-0.

The Bats finished the scoring in the eighth. Hernan Iribarren reached base on a fielder's choice with two outs against Rafael Martin. A batter later, Irving Falu singled to right. Caleb Ramsey overran the ball in right, allowing Iribarren to score on the error to extend the lead to 4-0.

Syracuse (27-52) could not solve four Louisville pitchers. Raisel Iglesias threw the first three innings in a rehab start, followed by Sam LeCure, Drew Hayes and Jumbo Diaz.

The Chiefs and Bats meet for the rubber game of the series Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. Joe Ross is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite David Holmberg for Louisville.
