Today's Game
Tonight, the Bisons take on the Toledo Mud Hens in the final game of a three-game series from Fifth Third Field (6:05 p.m.). The Bisons have won eight of their last 10 games and are now tied for the 4th-most wins (26) in the International League. Buffalo returns home Monday for a five-game homestand against Columbus and Syracuse.
Last Game (BUF 3, TOL 0)
The Bisons picked up their second shutout in four days with a 3-0 win over the Mud Hens. It was Buffalo's sixth shutout of the season, five of which have come in May. LHP Wade LeBlanc yielded just four hits over 6.1 innings and RHP Ryan Tepera got six outs for his fifth save.
vs. Toledo (3-2)
Today's game is the Bisons' final regular season contest with Toledo. This will be the first season series the Herd will complete against an opponent this year. With a win today, Buffalo can earn their first season series win over Toledo since going 5-3 against the Hens in 2008.
Roberto Hernandez
RHP Roberto Hernandez makes his seventh start of the season and 28 career Bisons' appearance today. The righty allowed four runs over five innings last Tuesday in Columbus in a game the Bisons won, 7-4. Hernandez has walked just six of the 129 batters he has faced this year. He worked five innings in a win over the Mud Hens on May 18.
Jesus Montero
DH Jesus Montero has hit in eight straight games since May 19 with a .371 average (13-35), two doubles, two home runs and five RBI. He has five multi-hit performances during the streak and a team-high 15 multi-hit games for the season. His 54 hits are 3rd best in the IL.
Dalton Pompey
OF Dalton Pompey has hit in his last 10 games away from Coca-Cola Field. In a stretch that began May 9 in Durham, he has averaged .341 (14-41) with four doubles, a home run and five RBI. Pompey has hit in 14 of his last 16 games overall with a .323 (20-62) average since May 8.
Wade LeBlanc
After another stellar outing last night, LHP Wade LeBlanc leads the International League with 62.2 innings of work while his five wins are tied for the league lead. LeBlanc has not allowed an earned run in 33.0 innings, lowering his ERA to 1.29 (3rd best in IL).
Hot Hitters
INF Matt Dominguez has reached base in 11 of his last 12 games with a .304 average while OF Darrell Ceciliani is 11 for his last 31 at the plate (.355). C A.J. Jimenez is 14 for his last 36 -a .389 clip.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays' (26-25) fourth straight win was an epic 10-9 seesaw win over the Red Sox. With two outs in the ninth, C Russell Martin hit an RBI-double and then came around on 2B Devon Travis' walk-off infield single. Toronto also scored four runs in the eight to tie the game temporarily at eight. The Blue Jays look for the sweep of Boston today at 1:07 p.m.
