TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Louisville Bats in the first game of a four-game series from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons are coming off a 4-6 roadtrip in Richmond and Norfolk where they won three of the last five games. On the hill tonight for the Herd will be RHP Jake Westbrook. The Indians pitcher continues to rehab from a strained left abdominal muscle. Louisville will counter with LHP Elizardo Ramirez.

GO WEST: This will be RHP Jake Westbrook's second rehab start with the Bisons. He threw 1.1 innings against Toledo on June 1 (7H, 5R, 4ER, BB, 2K). This time, Westbrook is scheduled to throw six innings or 90 pitches. Westbrook won 44 games with the Indians from 2004-06 and led the Tribe with 211.1 innings in 2006. He also pitched in three seasons with the Bisons (2001-2003) and is a combined 10-2 with a 3.40ERA in 16 career starts with Buffalo.

VS. THE BATS: This is the second and final regular season series between the Bats and Bisons this year. The Herd split a four-game set in Louisville, May 24-27. The Bats won the first two games in that series before the Herd responded with back-to-back nine-run outbursts. Since rejoining the IL in 1998, Buffalo is 42-34 against Louisville (.553 winning percentage).

CALL TO ARMS: The Bisons have not allowed more than four runs in any of their last seven games. Since the second game of the June 10 doubleheader, the Herd has posted a 2.33ERA with only 43 hits allowed in 58.0 innings (38K). The stretch includes a pair of 3-0 shutouts, June 12 in Richmond and June 16 in Norfolk. Buffalo is T2nd in the IL with seven shutouts on the year.

EVERY DAY HITTER: Outfielder Jonathan Van Every has made his presence felt on the team. Promoted from Akron on June 24, Van Every has hit .389 (7-18) with a triple, two home runs and four walks in seven games. He also has a 1.333 OPS since his promotion. Van Every had two stints with Buffalo in 2006 and hit .258 with five home runs and 16RBI in 47 games.

ALWAYS ON: Infielder Ryan Mulhern has reached base in 14 straight games, the longest active streak on the team. Since June 3, he has hit .348 (16-46) with five doubles, two home runs, six RBI and three walks.

CHART UPDATE: Ben Francisco is 4th in the IL in average (.329), T2nd in hits (79), 7th in doubles (18) and T7th runs scored (39). Ryan Mulhern isT7th in home runs (10), T9th in RBI (39), T3rd in doubles (20) and 5th in slugging percentage (.548).
