Radio: ESPN 1520 AM, Bisons.com

Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons and Louisville Bats play game three of a four-game series. Buffalo will look to secure a win after being swept in last night's doubleheader. It is part of a six-day, nine-game road trip through the IL's Western Division. The Bisons will then play five games in three days in Indianapolis on the back half of the road trip. Buffalo will return from the road with a five-game series against Lehigh Valley that start on July 30, through August 2.

Last Game (1): BUF 0, LOU 3

RHP Marco Estrada made the start for the Herd as part of an MLB Rehab assignment. The righty lasted 3.1IP before leaving the game with a blister on his right middle finger. Estrada suffered the defeat in the shutout loss, giving up a pair of home runs. OFs Dalton Pompey and Anthony Alford had the lone hits off of Bats' starter RHP Robert Stephenson.

Last Game (2): BUF 3, LOU 4 (8)

The Bisons tallied three times in the night cap, but were unable to secure the doubleheader split. INF Richard Urena belted his third home run of the season for the Bisons, but a two-run HR by Louisville INF Brian O'Grady capped off a three-run seventh inning. Louisville plated the only run in extra innings to sweep the Bisons in the DH.

Louisville (0-2)

The Bisons and Bats are meeting for the first time this season. Snow and inclement weather in April postponed the series in Buffalo between the two teams that was scheduled for April 16-18. The three-game series was part of a five-day stretch of postponements due to weather. Two of the three games were cancelled due to scheduling restrictions.

Today's Starter: LHP Thomas Pannone

LHP Thomas Pannone is in search of his first Triple-A win, making his fourth start for the Bisons. Pannone worked eight innings against the Durham Bulls on July 19, scattering six hits and two runs in a no-decision. His only decision was a loss to Lehigh Valley on July 14.

Dalton Pompey

OF Dalton Pompey collected a base hit in both games of the doubleheader on Tuesday, going 2-7 at the plate with a run scored. Pompey has hit safely in three straight games, going 4-11 (.364). The outfielder also has a base hit in five of the seven games he has played since re-joining the Herd on July 17, after recovering from a thumb injury.

Bisons' Bits

The Herd is now 8-4 in doubleheader games this season. Last night was the first time an opponent swept a DH from Buffalo this season. However, Buffalo was 6-0 to start this season with three straight sweeps; two at Rochester (May 25 and 27), and one at Columbus (June 10).

Transactions

On Tuesday, the Toronto Blue Jays announced that RHPs Marco Estrada and Roberto Osuna would begin rehab assignments with the Bisons. Also, INF Richard Urena was activated, along with RHPs Taylor Guerrieri and Nick Tepesch. RHP Brandon Cumpton was also placed on the Temporary Inactive list, while LHP Ryan Borucki was recalled by the Blue Jays on Tuesday as well.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (46-54) were shut out by Minnesota 5-0 on Tuesday, dropping back-to-back games to the Twins. LHP Ryan Borucki suffered the defeat, despite allowing just two unearned runs over six innings in the start. The series concludes today with RHP Sam Gaviglio on the mound (4:07 p.m.). The Jays will then begin a nine-day road trip Friday, beginning in Chicago against the White Sox.
