Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game series in three days. The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow making up a postponed game from May 15. Following the last three days of their nine day road trip, Buffalo will return home as the Buffalo Wings June 14-17 as they host the Rochester Plates.

Today's Starter: RHP Chris Rowley

RHP Chris Rowley is making his eleventh start for the Bisons this season and is in search of his fourth victory, which would surpass his three wins last season in a Bisons' uniform. The righty is coming off a seven inning loss on June 6 in Toledo. Rowley surrendered nine hits and one walk while giving up four runs (3 earned).

Lehigh Valley (0-3)

The Bisons and IronPigs will play a total of 18 times this season. Following this series in Allentown, PA, Buffalo will host Lehigh Valley at Coca-Cola Field June 22-24.

Roemon Fields

OF Roemon Fields went 3-3 in Game 1 of the double header on Sunday. The speedy outfielder crossed the plate 3 times and walked while collecting his third 3-hit game of the season. All of these 3-hit games have come since May 31st. Fields has also been on-base in 11 of his last 13 games. In that span, he has walked 12 times to increase his on-base percentage 79 points (.327). The speedster has collected 17 hits in 47 at-bats (.362) over the 13 games which has increased his overall batting average 60 points (.245).

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. continued to swing a hot bat in both games on Sunday. The infielder was a combined 3-7, adding a home run and 4 RBIs in Game 1. Gurriel now has a 5 game hitting streak, batting .450 (9-20). His batting average has increased 43 points over the streak (.303) and his on-base percentage has gone up 37 points (.313).

Anthony Alford

OF Anthony Alford had a combined four hits in seven at-bats in the doubleheader on Sunday. The speedy outfielder is batting .321 (9-28) in seven games so far in the month of June.

Transactions

RHP Rhiner Cruz was activated off the disabled list on Sunday.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (30-35) swept the four game series against the Baltimore Orioles with a 13-3 victory on Sunday. OF Curtis Granderson led the offense going 4-5 with 6RBIs, including his 6th long ball of the season. All but 2 starters had a multi-hit game for the Jays as they had 19 hits on the day. RHP Sam Gaviglio will face LHP Ryan Yarbrough in the opening game in Tampa Bay as Toronto looks to make it 5 wins in a row (7:10 p.m.). Following this series, the team then has a scheduled off day on Thursday before welcoming the Washington Nationals for a three-game series at Rogers Centre.
