
Bishop Joseph Adamec to Celebrate Mass at Blair Country Ballpark

ALTOONA, Pa - The Altoona Curve are pleased to announce that the Most Reverend Joseph V. Adamec, Bishop of Altoona-Johnstown will conduct Mass at Blair County Ballpark on Friday, July 17.
The mass will take place at 4:00 p.m. on the concourse at Blair County Ballpark and is free and open to the public. The liturgy will highlight the Altoona Curve's Family Faith Day festivities which begin at 3:00 p.m. The family-oriented fun will include a praise and worship rally, a pre-game parade of churches and faith communities, and a St. Francis Bobblehead giveaway to the first 2,000 fans of all ages through the gates for Friday's 7:05 p.m. game between the Curve and the Harrisburg Senators (AA - Washington Nationals). The gates will open at 6 p.m. for entry to the game.
Friday's mass will also be televised live locally on FOX 8 (WWCP-TV) and heard on Radio Maria's WHHN-FM 88.1.
"This has the potential to be of the best nights of the season as we combine baseball and faith for a terrific evening" stated Altoona Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "We're absolutely thrilled the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese and Bishop Adamec have accepted the invitation to celebrate Mass at Blair County Ballpark."
Below is a complete itinerary of the Family Faith Day festivities at Blair County Ballpark:
3:00 p.m. Praise and Worship Rally at Blair County Ballpark
4:00 p.m. Pre-game Mass at Blair County Ballpark with Bishop Joseph Adamec
5:00 p.m. Ballpark will empty in preparation for Friday's Curve game. Gathering will be held outside the gates in the main ticket plaza where music and prize opportunities will be provided.
6:00 p.m. Gates open for Friday's game versus the Altoona Curve and Harrisburg Senators.
6:20 p.m. On-field "Parade of Faith" for all churches and faith organizations that will be attending Friday's Curve game.
7:05 p.m. Game begins
