Biscuits Bid Adieu to BayBears, 4-2

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (19-10) wrapped up their five-game series with a 4-2 win over the Mobile BayBears (12-17) in the finale on Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium. The game was the final regular season meeting ever between the two clubs with the BayBears set to move to Madison, AL and become the Rocket City Trash Pandas in 2020. The Biscuits polished off their 10-game home stand with eight wins.

It was a bullpen day for the Biscuits, who started Blake Bivens, and the right-hander did not disappoint, delivering two scoreless frames and wiggling out of a bases-loaded jam in the second. Benton Moss (1-0) came on next and worked three innings of one-run ball in his first appearance this season, surrendering a Bo Way sac fly in the fifth that put the BayBears in front, 1-0.

The Biscuits had no answer for Mobile starter Michael Santos (1-1) until the fifth, when Rene Pinto singled and Kevin Padlo doubled. With runners at second and third, Ryan Clark entered the game and served up a two-run single to Jermaine Palacios on a two-strike pitch that put Montgomery ahead for good at 2-1.

A Jesus Sanchez sac fly later in the fifth made it 3-1, and an RBI-single from the right fielder made it 4-2 in the seventh after a sixth inning RBI-single by Roberto Pena off Dalton Moats. Jose Disla worked two scoreless innings of relief and Curtis Taylor secured his third save in the victory.

The Biscuits, who still have yet to lose a series in 2019, now head south to open up a five-game set with the Biloxi Shuckers at MGM Park on Monday night at 6:35 PM CT with Josh Fleming (3-1) set to tango with Johan Belisario (1-0).

The Biscuits will to Riverwalk Stadium for a five-game series against the Mississippi Braves with Family Faith Night featuring a Faith Radio Pre-game Concert and MAX Fireworks on Saturday, May 11 at 6:05 PM CT. The home stand will also feature Mother's Day featuring a Stemless Wine Glass Giveaway presented by Filet & Vine on Sunday, May 12; the third and final Grand Slam School Day of 2019 on Monday, May 13; and Biscuit Appreciation Day featuring an Over Mitt Giveaway on Tuesday, May 14.
