PEARL, Miss. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (10-20) fell to the Mississippi Braves (15-13) by a 1-0 score in 10 innings in the fifth and final game of the five-game series at Trustmark Park on Sunday afternoon.

The loss is Jacksonville's sixth straight, and marked Mississippi's first-ever five-game sweep of the Jumbo Shrimp as the club was shutout in three of the five games.

Mississippi right-handed relief pitcher Connor Johnstone (1-0) earned the win by navigating through a scoreless top of the 10th inning. Jacksonville right-handed relief pitcher Parker Bugg (0-1) took the loss by allowing the winning run to score in the bottom of the 10th.

The game featured strong starts from both starting pitchers. Mississippi left-handed starter Kyle Muller worked seven scoreless innings where he scattered five hits, walked three batters while collecting four strikeouts. Jacksonville right-handed starter Jordan Yamamoto worked his six innings in scoreless fashion, allowing just one hit with two walks and six strikeouts.

With no score through nine innings, the game went to the 10th where Jacksonville had Anfernee Seymour automatically at second base to start the frame. A Magneuris Sierra sacrifice bunt moved him to third, however despite loading the bases Jacksonville could not score. In the bottom of the 10th with Drew Waters automatically at second base, a Jonathan Morales sacrifice bunt moved him to third base. Jacksonville intentionally walked the next hitter Luis Valenzuela to put runners on the corners. The next batter Alejandro Salazar placed an RBI safety squeeze bunt single right in front of home plate, and Bugg threw home to catcher Rodrigo Vigil, whose tag on Waters was not in time to give the Braves the 1-0 win.

The Jumbo Shrimp offense collected six hits in the loss, with Jacksonville leaving 12 men on base in the game. Jacksonville as 0-for-8 as a team batting with runners in scoring position.

The Jumbo Shrimp will bus to Mobile tonight and tomorrow begin a five-game series with the Mobile BayBears at Hank Aaron Stadium on Monday night at 7:35 p.m. eastern. Right-handed pitcher Cody Poteet (2-2, 3.52 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Mobile right-handed pitcher Jesus Castillo (0-4, 6.46 ERA).
