Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
LINCOLN, Neb. -- It was a game of near-misses for the Sioux Falls Canaries on Saturday night. Battling back from an early 3-0 deficit, the Birds (33-45) cut the Saltdogs (34-43) lead to one on three separate occasions. The Saltdogs hung on to win 5-4.
Canaries center fielder Brett Vertigan extended his hitting streak to 13 games with an RBI single in the fifth inning. Birds starter Mark Seyler allowed four runs in five innings of work.

Lincoln added a run in the bottom half to lead 4-2 after five.
Sioux Falls loaded the bases with one out in the sixth inning, and cut the lead to 4-3 on a Jordan Ebert hit-by-pitch. Graham Low hit into a double play to end the rally.
Lincoln took a 5-3 lead in the seventh, but the Birds had one more rally in the ninth. Mitch Glasser drove in a run with an RBI single, putting the tying run on first with one out. Kevin Taylor hit into a game-ending double play.
