'Birds Doubleheader at Suns Cancelled

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Due to wet grounds and further expected rain, Wednesday night's Delmarva Shorebirds-Hagerstown Suns doubleheader has been cancelled. As the teams are set for a twin bill on Thursday night that will serve as their final matchups of the season, the games will not be made up.

This is the first time in over five seasons the Shorebirds have had three straight days with rainouts. Delmarva saw games washed away on June 6-8 of 2013 against West Virginia and Lakewood.

The Shorebirds and Suns will cap their season series with a doubleheader on Thursday evening beginning at 5:05. Delmarva's DL Hall (2-5, 2.44) will face Hagerstown's Tomas Alastre (3-5, 5.36) in Game 1, while Game 2 features the Shorebirds' Cameron Bishop (8-4, 2.74) against the Suns' Sam Held (2-5, 3.96). First pitch from Municipal Stadium for Game 1 is set for 5:05 p.m., and pregame coverage begins on Fox Sports 960 AM and the MiLB First Pitch app at 4:50 with Will DeBoer on the call.
