RENO, Nevada, February 21, 2012 - Marcus Banks scored 22 points in just 21 minutes and six other Stampeders scored in double-figures, but it wasn't enough as the Reno Bighorns beat the Idaho Stampede 126-116.
The Stampede (14-19) shot 51.9 percent from the field and made 29-of-35 free throws (82.9 percent), but were outshot by Reno, who had four players score 20 or more points, including Blake Ahearn, who totaled 33 points (5-10 3FG, 10-10 FT). Idaho allowed 52.1 percent shooting from the field, 15-of-28 (53.6 percent) from behind the three-point line and sent the Bighorns to the free throw line 40 times, where they made 37.
Paul Carter had 15 points, Mikki Moore totaled 15 points and nine rebounds, Seth Tarver and Tony Bobbitt each had 14 points, David Bailey added 13 and Devin Green scored 11 points. Reggie Larry, Antoine Walker and Chris Davis, re-acquired earlier in the day, each tallied four.
The Bighorns three other scorers with 20 or more were Josh Selby (23 points), Zach Graham (21 points) and Bobby Simmons (20 points, nine rebounds).
Idaho leaves to play at Los Angeles tomorrow at 8 p.m. (MST).
