Tulsa 66ers News Release

TULSA, Okla., Feb. 21, 2012 - Marcus Lewis picked up his 25th double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Robert Vaden scored 17, but the Tulsa 66ers (16-20) fell at the buzzer to the Maine Red Claws (13-21) Tuesday night at home, 86-84.

With the teams tied at 84 with 2.2 seconds remaining in regulation, Maine's Kenny Hayes connected on his sixth field goal of the game to earn the two-point win.

"It was a good shot, give him (Hayes) credit," 66ers head coach Dale Osbourne said. "We played tough defense and he made a great play."

Also scoring in double figures for Tulsa was Delroy James with 15, Larry Owens with 13 and Xavier Alexander with 10. It marked the 19th time this season five 66ers posted double-digit scoring.

The 66ers racked up 21 assists on the night, led by Vaden with five dishes and Lewis and Owens each with four.

"The most important thing to take away from this game is that I see our team making strides," Osbourne said. "We have had a couple of tough games recently, but our focus must continue to be to work hard every day."

Leading Maine with a double-double was Craig Brackins with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Morris Almond scored a team-high 17 points.

The 66ers will play their final contest before the 2012 All-Star break tomorrow night, Feb. 22, when they travel to Austin to take on the Toros at 7:30 p.m. CT inside Cedar Park Center.
