February 21, 2012 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, NEV.- Following former Reno Bighorn Jeremy Lin's explosion into NBA superstardom, the Bighorns will celebrate his great success story with a Jeremy Lin jersey giveaway at their game on Saturday, March 17. The 1,500 limited edition jerseys will be distributed when the doors for the game open at 6 p.m.

"We are very excited to see the great accomplishments of Jeremy Lin in the NBA," said Bighorns Vice President Mike Reynolds. "Our fans had the unique opportunity to watch Jeremy play all of last season and these jerseys will be a celebration of his ascent to becoming an NBA star."

Lin has been a standout player in the past ten games with the New York Knicks, averaging 24.6 points, 9.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds. He set an NBA record for most points in a player's first five starts, surpassing players such as Allen Iverson and Michael Jordan. His season was highlighted with a 38 point outburst against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers on February 10 at Madison Square Garden. After his great stretch of games, he was chosen to participate in the NBA Rising Star Challenge as part of the NBA All Star weekend.

"I went to the D-League three times last year and once this year," Lin said in a press conference. "Without that time, I definitely wouldn't be the player I am right now."

Last season with the Bighorns, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, Lin averaged 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 20 games.

Reno Bighorns group ticket packages are on sale today. Groups can experience one of the many Fan Experience Packages, including playing a game on the Bighorns court or performing a routine at halftime of a game. For more information call (775)853-8220 or visit RenoBighorns.com.
