February 21, 2012 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

DREAM FACTORY PARTICIPANTS READY TO GO TO WORK

NBA TV is carrying live the 2012 NBA Development League All-Star Game Presented by 26 Seconds and the Dream Factory Dunk Contest Presented by Haier, Saturday, Feb. 25 (2 p.m. ET). This marks the fifth consecutive year that NBA D-League All-Star festivities will be held on Center Court at NBA Jam Session as part of NBA All-Star 2012. For the first time, the Dream Factory Dunk Contest presented by Haier will take place at halftime of the 2012 NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by 26 Seconds. The Three-Point Competition and the Shooting Stars, both also presented by Haier, will take place following the conclusion of the NBA D-League All-Star Game and will be streamed live on nba.com/futurecast.

Zachary Andrews (Los Angeles D-Fenders), Osiris Eldridge (Bakersfield Jam), Terrico White (Idaho Stampede) and L.D. Williams (Springfield Armor) will vie for the Dream Factory Dunk Contest title.

The third-annual Shooting Stars Competition, featuring 12 NBA D-League players competing in four teams of three in a two-round timed shooting event, will feature NBA D-League All-Stars Marqus Blakely (Sioux Falls Skyforce), Jerome Dyson (Tulsa 66ers), Keith McLeod (Erie BayHawks), Elijah Millsap (Los Angeles), Jerry Smith (Springfield), and Edwin Ubiles (Dakota Wizards). Rounding out the Shooting Stars field are Eldridge and White (both of whom also are competing in the Dunk Contest), Lawrence Hill (Maine Red Claws), Tyren Johnson (Rio Grande Valley Vipers), Cameron Jones (Fort Wayne Mad Ants), and Leo Lyons (Austin Toros).

A pair of 3-Point Competition champions, Booker Woodfox (Texas Legends), who won in 2011, and Blake Ahearn (Reno Bighorns), who was victorious in the event in 2009, face off against sharp shooters Moses Ehambe (Iowa Energy), and Lee Humphrey (Rio Grande Valley Vipers) in the 2012 Dream Factory 3-Point Competition. NBA D-League All-Star Game Presented by 26 Seconds note: The shot clock during the game will be extended to 26 seconds in order to drive awareness to the fact that a student drops out of high school every 26 seconds in America. The goal of 26 Seconds, a State Farm Public Awareness Campaign, is to increase the high school graduation rate.

PROSPECT REPORT

Justin Dentmon, Austin Toros -- The knock on Dentmon is that he commits too many turnovers. Although he is averaging over four per game, he has been much more sure-handed of late, committing 30 miscues over a nine-game stretch in February. The 2012 NBA D-League All-Star's averages are solid across the board -- 22.5 ppg, 5.1 apg and 4.0 rpg -- and he shoots a high percentage from the field (.488), from beyond the arc (.429) and from the charity stripe (.844). NBA scouts know he can score at will, if he shows he can run an offense efficiently, he could find permanent employment at the next level.
