(Windsor, ON) - Christian Fischer had a pair of goals and the Spitfires scored three times in the third period en route to a 5-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit Friday night at the WFCU Centre.
Fischer's 14th of the season at 2:23 of the the final frame sparked a stretch of three goals in a 6:56, as
Bradley Latour (9th, 3:50) and Gabriel Vilardi (8th, 9:19) gave Windsor (16-6-3-0) starter Garret Hughson (31 saves) all he'd need for his sixth win in seven starts since joining the club in late October.
Kris Bennett had the lone goal for Saginaw (8-15-1-1), which lost its eighth straight.
The Spits head across the river for the back half of the home-and-home series with the Spirit Saturday night. Game time is 7:11.
