Lawr, Raddysh big in Otters 3-1 road win

Mississauga, ON - The Erie Otters got a big performance from Jake Lawr in net and two more goals from Taylor Raddysh in a 3-1 victory in Mississauga against the Steelheads.

The first period began and finished at a 0-0 score. Jake Lawr stopped all 11 Mississauga chances in the opening frame, including two spectacular sprawling saves that neutralized a couple of quality Steelhead scoring chances.

The following frame proved to hold a similar storyline to the first. Lawr and Jack Flinn continued to keep their opponents out of the net until the Otters received their third power play of the night. Taylor Raddysh directed a great pass from Alex DeBrincat past Flinn at 15:03 to break the scoreless tie and put the Otters ahead 1-0.

Mississauga was able to finally get one past Lawr early in the third period to tie the score at one. Michael McLeod scored his ninth of the season 38 seconds into the third period. The response from Erie came at the 8:53 when Vanya Lodnia buried a backhander for his seventh of the season to retake the lead. After killing a penalty late in the period, the Otters added insurance at 18:48 on a power play of their own. Taylor Raddysh's second of the night and 12th of the season sealed the deal to give the Otters a 3-1 win.

Jake Lawr finished with 22 saves on 23 shots and improved to 4-2-0-0 on the season. Alex DeBrincat extended his point streak to 14 games with his assist in the first period.

The Otters will complete their second three-in-three of the season tomorrow when they host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at Erie Insurance Arena beginning at 7:00.
