CHARLESTON, WV - The Fireflies stretched their win streak to four in a row with a 4-2 victory over the West Virginia Power on Thursday night. Columbia used a three-run top of the first inning to jump all over their opponents at Appalachian Power Park and never looked back.

West Virginia (23-23) starter Mitch Keller (L, 3-3) hadn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his previous eight starts. Columbia (25-22) scored three off of the righty after just three batters. Vinny Siena began the game with a double down the right-field line and Kevin Kaczmarski followed with a two-bagger of his own, plating his teammate. Then J.C. Rodriguez smashed a fastball over the right-field wall - his third home run of the season.

The Fireflies added another run in the third and the top of the order was responsible once again. Siena walked, Kaczmarski followed with his second double and Rodriguez's groundout to first base plated the run.

Columbia's 4-0 lead was cut into in the bottom of the third and sixth innings. Ke'Bryan Hayes singled in a run in the third and then homered in the sixth. These were the only runs starter Tyler Badamo (W, 2-3) surrendered.

Craig Missigman pitched two scoreless innings out of the pen - extending his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 11.1 - and Alex Palsha claimed his sixth save of the year with a clean bottom of the ninth.

The series continues against West Virginia on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Joe Shaw (3-2, 3.10) toes the rubber for the Fireflies and faces Power righty Logan Sendelbach (2-1, 3.18).

You can listen to the action on WGCV 620 AM, 105.1 and 96.3 FM, ColumbiaFireflies.com and the TuneIn Radio app starting at 7:00 p.m.
