Rome, GA - A solid early start for the Greenville Drive went for naught on Thursday night, as the Rome Braves came back in the middle innings to come away with a 7-4 victory in the first meeting between the teams in 2016.

The Drive (22-24) took advantage of Rome pitcher Touki Toussaint's struggle to throw strikes in the second, drawing a pair of bases-loaded walks and scoring on a wild pitch to take a 3-0 lead.

Following an RBI single in the bottom of the second by Lucas Herbert to get the Braves (19-28) on the board, Roldani Baldwin answered in the top of the third with a solo homer, his third of the year, to extend the Drive lead to 4-1.

The Braves then scored twice in each of the next three innings to pull away. Ray-Patrick Didder smacked a two-run homer off Marc Brakeman (1-4) in the third to cut the Drive lead to 4-3.

A Herbert groundout in the fourth off Brakeman tied the game at four, and Bradley Keller followed with an RBI double to put the Braves up for good.

Jonathan Morales laced an RBI double in the fifth against Adam Lau in the fifth for another run, and an RBI groundout by Carlos Castro capped the scoring.

The teams continue their series at 7:05 PM on Friday night in Rome. The Drive will send right-hander Jose Almonte (0-1, 3.60) to the mound, and the Braves will counter with right-hander Mike Soroka (1-4, 2.37).
