LEADING OFF: The West Virginia Power won the series finale against the Charleston RiverDogs 5-3 at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston, SC. Mitchell Tolman gave the Power an early lead as he launched a two-run home run in the second inning, his second of the season. The 'Dogs came back for a run in the bottom half on a solo home run by Connor Spencer. That was all West Virginia starter Dario Agrazal allowed through six innings, while tying a season high in strikeouts with five. The game remained scoreless until the eighth, when the Power added three insurance runs, keyed by a two run double by Logan Hill to make it 5-1. Though Charleston scored a pair of runs to cut the lead in half in the eighth, Julio Eusebio retired the side in the ninth to notch his fourth save and seal the 5-3 win.

TIME FLIES: Thursday marks the first ever meeting between the Columbia Fireflies and the West Virginia Power, after the Savannah Sand Gnats moved to Columbia this past season. The teams will play a total of 15 times in 2016, including eight in Charleston. The Sand Gnats and Firefly franchise lead the overall series against the Power 29-25.

WHIP IT GOOD: Thursday night starter Mitch Keller leads the South Atlantic League in WHIP (Walk and Hits over Inning Pitched) at .69. The right handed ace is also third in ERA (1.40), fourth in strikeouts (52) and third in batting average against (.175).
