SALISBURY, MD - DJ Stewart delivered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom half of the 11th inning to give Delmarva a 1-0 win over the BlueClaws on Thursday night at Perdue Stadium in the first game of a four-game series.

The teams exchanged zeroes for the first 10 innings - Lakewood starter Harold Arauz threw eight scoreless innings - but it was Stewart to ended things with a single off Sutter McLoughlin. The game-winning hit drove in Cedric Mullins who had started the inning with a walk.

The loss drops the BlueClaws to 17-29 on the year and puts the Shorebirds at 27-19, 4-1 against Lakewood.

The BlueClaws had a chance in the top of the inning, with Grenny Cumana picking up a 1-out double but he never left second base. Delmarva had a chance in the eighth against Arauz, with two on and nobody out. However, Natanael Delgado was thrown out trying to score on an errant throw by Austin Bossart after a bunt attempt and Arauz got two groundouts to end the inning.

For Arauz, who went eight scoreless innings, it was the longest outing of his career and the longest outing by a BlueClaw this year. Arauz has now thrown 21 straight scoreless innings over his last three starts.

Delmarva's bullpen, which followed six scoreless from Reid Love, threw five scoreless innings, three by Garrett Cleavinger and two by Christian Turnipseed, who earned the win to improve to 1-1.

Carlos Duran had two hits for the BlueClaws in the loss.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 7:05. RHP Franklyn Kilome (0-4) starts for Lakewood against Delmarva RHP Okfely Peralta (2-1).
