PEARL, MS -- The Atlanta Braves released a second set of player transactions this afternoon. Mississippi Braves LHP Eric Berger has been released by the Atlanta Braves. In corresponding moves, RHP Terry Doyle was signed by the Braves and assigned to Double-A Mississippi.

Berger, 28, was signed by the Braves on April 30. In 11 games for the M-Braves, he posted a 8.22 ERA and a record of 1-1. Berger was traded by the Astros to Oakland on March 29. He appeared in three games at Triple-A Sacramento to start the season before being released. Berger was originally signed by Cleveland in the eighth round of the 2008 draft out of the University of Arizona. He spent five years in the Indians system before being acquired by Houston in 2013.

Doyle, 28, began the season at Double-A Birmingham. He was 4-4 with a 5.93 ERA in eight starts for the Barons. He tossed a shortened complete game on May 14 against the Blue Wahoos. Doyle was originally selected in the 37th round of the 2008 draft by the White Sox. He was selected by the Twins in the 2011 Rule 5 Draft but was returned to the White Sox after spring training. He was released in June 2012 and went to Japan. He played in the Red Sox system in 2013 before returning to the White Sox this year.

The Mississippi roster has 25 active players and 4 disabled.
