Southern League Announces All-Star Game Managers & Umpires

MARIETTA, GA - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs has announced the coaching staffs and umpiring crew for the 2014 Southern League All-Star Game, which is scheduled for June 17 at AT&T Field in Chattanooga. The league selected the staff of the host Chattanooga Lookouts to coach the North Division and the staff of the Mobile BayBears to coach the South Division.

North Division Manager

RAZOR SHINES "" CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS

2014 marks Razor Shines' first season as manager for the Chattanooga Lookouts. He has accumulated 661 overall wins in his ten-season managerial career. The majority of his managerial career was spent with the Chicago White Sox organization, including the 2004 and 2005 seasons with the Birmingham Barons. Both seasons he took the Barons to the Southern League Playoffs and led his division in winning percentage (.525 and .590, respectively). In 2013 he began managing in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for the Great Lakes Loons where he won 67 games. His managing debut in professional baseball was in 1995 with the Charleston Wildcats in the South Atlantic League where the team had a record of 77-65. The Durham, North Carolina native was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 1978 MLB June Amateur Draft. He spent 16 seasons with the Expos organization in both the Minor and Major League levels, working as a first-baseman, third-baseman and catcher. His overall minor league batting average is .267 with 1297 hits, 739 RBI and 139 homeruns. Joining Shines will be Lookouts pitching coach Scott Radinsky, hitting coach Shawn Wooten and athletic trainer Aaron Schumacher.

South Division Manager

ANDY GREEN "" MOBILE BAYBEARS

In his second year as manager for the Mobile BayBears, Andy Green has a .607 winning percentage for 2014 and has 174 overall wins in 4 seasons of managing professional baseball. In his first year managing the BayBears, Green led the team to capture the Southern League South Division title in both halves of the season. The BayBears were extremely successful in 2013 with an overall record of 80-59, which is a winning percentage of .576. Lexington, Kentucky native Andy Green is the eleventh manager in the history of the BayBears. He is the third BayBears manager to win Southern League Manager of the Year (2013) after Turner Ward in 2011 and Mike Ramsey in 1998. He led the 2012 Missoula Osprey to a 41-35 record. Green played 3 seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks at second base, third base, short stop and left field. He was drafted by Arizona in the 24th round of the 2000 Amateur Draft after a record-breaking run at the University of Kentucky. In the minors, he hit over .300 in most of his seasons with the Diamondbacks. Accompanying Green will be BayBears pitching coach Wellington Cepeda, hitting coach Jacob Cruz, and athletic trainer Masa Abe. Southern League Umpires

The four-man umpiring crew for the All-Star Game will consist of Matt McCoy (Crew Chief), Blake Felter (1B), Shane Livensparger (2B) and Jeremy Riggs (3B). McCoy has been an MiLB umpire for 7 years, the last 3 with the Southern League. He resides in Ellis Grove, IL. Blake Felter has been umpiring for 6 years, the last 3 in the Southern League. He resides in Kissimmee, FL. This marks the 6th MiLB season for Shane Livensparger, and his 2nd season with the league. He resides in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Jeremy Riggs has been an MiLB umpire for 6 years, the last 2 with the Southern League. Jeremy's home is in Suffolk, VA.
