Burlington, IA- The Burlington Bees allowed a season-high in runs in a 15-1 loss to the Quad Cities River Bandits on Monday night at Community Field.

After the Bees left the bases loaded in the first inning, Quad Cities jumped on the Bees for four runs in the second inning. With one out, Randy Cesar doubled. After a Bees' error, Taylor Jones walked and Rodrigo Ayarza gave Quad Cities the lead with a sacrifice fly. Ronnie Dawson then drove in a pair with a triple. Quad Cities added the fourth and final run of the inning on a Bees' error.

The River Bandits upped their lead in the third inning. Alex De Goti and Jake Rogers hit back-to-back home runs, pushing the score to 6-0. Quad Cities wasn't done as they made it a 7-0 game in the fourth on a Rogers double.

With the Bees trailing 9-0 in the seventh, Roberto Baldoquin launched a home run to left, his second of the year, cutting the deficit to 9-1.

Quad Cities offense stayed hot, scoring two in the seventh and the eighth and four more in the ninth on a grand slam off the bat of Randy Cesar.

The Bees gave up a season high 15 runs, five home runs and tied a season high in hits allowed with 16, in a 15-1 loss to the Quad Cities River Bandits. Quad Cities' starter Jorge Alcala (1-0) threw five shutout innings earning the win while Nate Bertness (0-1) was charged with the loss. The Bees and the River Bandits continue the series on Tuesday night at 6:30 at Community Field as Andrew Vinson makes the start for the Bees against Hector Perez for Quad Cities.
