Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

CLINTON, IA - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers rallied from three different deficits and beat the Clinton LumberKings 9-5 on Tuesday afternoon at Ashford University Field. Monte Harrison scored the run that tied the game 5-5 in the sixth and delivered a two-run double in the seventh to put Wisconsin ahead to stay.

Clinton (5-7) took the lead in the bottom of the first without the benefit of a hit. Rayder Ascanio walked with one out. Wisconsin starting pitcher Victor Diaz threw a pair of wild pitches in the inning to allow Ascanio to take third base. Diaz appeared to strike out Kristian Brito on a 1-2 pitch to end the inning. However, Diaz was called for a balk before the pitch and Ascanio scored for a 1-0 lead.

The Rattlers (6-6) rallied for two runs in the top of the second inning and a balk figured into the rally. Ronnie Gideon singled with one out and moved to second on a balk by Clinton starter Danny Garcia. Jose Cuas doubled to left with two outs to score Gideon. The go-ahead run scored when Gilbert Lara's fly to left was dropped for an error and Cuas scored for a 2-1 lead.

Wisconsin's lead didn't last long. Diaz walked two Clinton batters in the bottom of the second before giving up a three-run home run to Anthony Jimenez. The number nine batter in the LumberKings order hit his first home run of the season and the LumberKings were up 4-2.

Demi Orimoloye and Tucker Neuhaus tied the game in the top of the third inning. Both hit solo home runs to even the score 4-4. Both Orimoloye and Neuhaus have three home runs on the season.

Clinton broke back in front in the fourth inning and it was the long ball that did it. Connor Hale hit a leadoff home run off Parker Berberet to give the LumberKings a 5-4 lead. Berberet, who played as a catcher and first baseman for the Timber Rattlers during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, made the switch to the mound this past off season and Tuesday was his professional debut as a pitcher.

The Rattlers stormed back again in the game to eventually go in front and it was Harrison leading the way.

Harrison started the Wisconsin sixth inning with single. He would go to third when the LumberKings booted a double play ball. Eric Aguilar got Harrison home with the tying run on a fielder's choice.

In the seventh, Harrison was at the plate with runners at second and third with two outs and a 2-2 count. He lined a double to the gap in left-center to score both runners and give Wisconsin a 7-5 lead.

Mario Feliciano, who had moved his hitting streak to six games earlier in the day, gave the Rattlers two insurance runs in the top of the eighth. Feliciano lined a two-run single with two outs to put the Rattlers up 9-5. The hit was his third of the day. Feliciano is 10-for-20 during the streak.

Nattino Diplan picked up the win in relief for the Rattlers with three scoreless inning and four strikeouts.

The final game of Wisconsin's road trip is on Wednesday and it is also a day game. Trey Supak (0-0, 0.00) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. The LumberKings have named Brandon Miller (1-1, 2.45) as their starter. Game time at Ashford University Field is scheduled for noon.

The radio broadcast is on AM1280, WNAM starting with the Potawatomi Hotel Casino Pregame Show at 11:40am. The broadcast is also available on TuneIn Radio and IHeartRadio.

The Timber Rattlers return home on Thursday to begin a seven-game homestand with games against the Peoria Chiefs and the Kane County Cougars. Click here to see all of the giveaways and promotions planned for the upcoming stretch of games at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
