BURLINGTON, Iowa - Alex De Goti collected four hits, including two homeruns, to lead the Quad Cities River Bandits to a 15-1 win over the Burlington Bees Monday night at Community Field. Three Bandits finished one hit shy of the cycle, including De Goti, as Quad Cities notched their largest margin of victory of the year. Bandits' starter Jorge Alcala picked up the win, tossing five scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.
The scoring started in the second for the Bandits (5-6) on a Rodrigo Ayarza sacrifice fly, followed by a Ronnie Dawson two-run scoring triple. Dawson scored when Daz Cameron reached on an error on the ensuing at-bat. The Bandits started the third with back-to-back home runs by De Goti and Jake Rogers. Rogers came to bat the following inning and bashed a run scoring double. In the seventh, Ayarza clubbed a two-run shot giving him his third home run in two games. Finally, De Goti's second home run of the night made it 10-1 and a Spencer Johnson double provided another run. Randy Cesar provided the final insurance runs on a ninth inning grand slam.
Dawson was a home run short of the cycle and Rogers was a triple away. De Goti added to his two home runs with a triple and a single and was a double shy of the cycle from the fourth inning on, but could instead had to settle for two walks and his second homer of the night.
