Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
BURLINGTON, Iowa - The River Bandits clubbed five home runs on their way to a 12-2 win over Burlington on Tuesday night at Community Field to take their second straight game in a three game series with the Bees. Marcos Almonte, Daz Cameron, Ronnie Dawson, Randy Cesar and Stephen Wrenn all left the yard. Hector Perez picked up the win on the mound for Quad Cities.
The River Bandits (6-6) started the scoring in the first when Jake Rogers tripled home Alex De Goti. In the second, Quad Cities scored five times on an Almonte three-run homer, a Cameron solo shot and a Rogers RBI double. Cesar added a two-run bomb and Dawson launched a solo homer. A Wrenn long ball in the fourth made it 10-2 Bandits before they tacked on single runs in the sixth and seventh.
Perez (1-1) allowed back-to-back home runs to Jordan Zimmerman and Troy Montgomery in the second, but surrendered just two other hits in 5.2 innings. Perez fanned seven and walked one. Andrew Vinson (1-1) was handed the loss for the Bees (5-6). He lasted just three innings, gave up nine runs and 11 hits, including four of the five Bandits home runs.
Every Bandits starter recorded a hit. De Goti, Rogers, Wrenn, Cesar, Almonte and Rodrigo Ayarza all had multiple hits.
