Beckford-Tseu Back, Dest Signs PTO

The Peoria Rivermen shuffled its roster today, recalling goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu from the Alaska Aces and signing defenseman Jason Dest to a Professional Try-Out.

Beckford-Tseu returns to Peoria after his second stint with the Aces this season. In all, the Toronto, Ontario native has appeared in 16 games with Alaska, posting a 12-4-0 record, 2.34 GAA and .923 save percentage. This year with Peoria Beckford-Tseu is 15-11-2, 2.55 GAA and .900 save percentage.

Earlier this season Beckford-Tseu made his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues in Los Angeles against the Kings, stopping 8-of-9 shots in relief work on February 21. Originally selected by the Blues in round 5 of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he recently signed a one-year contract with the team.

Dest, 23, has spent his first pro season entirely with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers, appearing in 50 games with four assists, 82 penalty minutes and an impressive plus-20 rating. Prior to turning pro the Fraser, Mich. native played four seasons at the University of Michigan, appearing in 164 games with five goals and 35 points.
