Moose Sign Ganzak To ATO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed defenceman Mitch Ganzak to an amateur tryout contract.

Ganzak, 23, appeared in 42 games this past season with the University of Miami-Ohio Redhawks and scored two goals and 27 assists for 29 points and 46 penalty minutes. He helped the Redhawks advance to the NCAA Regional Final where they were defeated 4-3 in overtime by Boston College. In four seasons at Miami-Ohio, the Redford, MI native played in 153 games and scored nine goals and 92 assists for 101 points and 203 penalty minutes. He was named the team's Most Outstanding Defensive Player following the 2006-07 season and was named to the All-CCHA Second Team after the 2005-06 campaign. Prior to his arrival at Miami-Ohio, Ganzak played in 95 games in the NAHL with Springfield and Capital Centre where he scored 16 goals and 47 assists for 63 points and 230 penalty minutes.
