April 3, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, today announced goaltender Drew MacIntyre has been named to the AHL's Second All-Star Team.
MacIntyre, 24, is currently fifth in the AHL with a goals against average of 2.24 and fourth in the league with a save percentage of .923. The Charlottetown, PEI native has appeared in a career-high 45 games this year and has established a new career standard for wins with a 25-17-2 record. He has also collected a pair of shutouts and became the second Moose netminder and the ninth goalie in AHL history to be credited with a goal, as well as only the second to score a game-winning goal when he scored in overtime Feb. 20/08 at Chicago. He was then named Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 24/08. He was named to the Canadian All-Star team for the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok and was the winning goalie after stopping 15 of 16 shots that night. He was also Manitoba's nominee for the 2008 American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year.
In addition, MacIntyre made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks this season on Dec. 13/07 at San Jose, and has registered a 2.95 GAA and .864 save percentage in two appearances with Manitoba's parent club. Over 115 career AHL games with Manitoba and Grand Rapids, he has earned a 64-41-4 record, 2.36 GAA, and .917 save percentage.
This is the third consecutive season a member of the Manitoba Moose has been voted to the AHL's Second All-Star team. Last year, left winger Jason Jaffray was selected, while goaltender Wade Flaherty was named to the 2005-06 Second All-Star team.
