(Boise, ID) - For the second time this season, Idaho's Rejean Beauchemin has been recognized as the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week.

For the week of November 23 - 29, Beauchemin was 2-0, stopping 50 of 51 shots, against the Stockton Thunder. That equates out to a 0.50 goals-against average and a.980 save percentage.

"He was spectacular," head coach Derek Laxdal said. "It's definitely well-deserved."

The 24-year-old also won the award in mid-October. It's the third time in just seven weeks this season that an Idaho netminder has been awarded the Goaltender of the Week (Richard Bachman, Oct 26- Nov 1). It is the third time Beauchemin has won the award in his career, having also earned recognition once in 2006 as a member of the Trenton Devils.

The Winnipeg, MB, native leads the ECHL in goals-against average (1.86) and save percentage (.929). He'll be in net Thursday night when Idaho hosts Alaska.

The Steelheads return to the Qwest Arena ice Thursday night, December 3, when they host the Alaska Aces. Tickets are available at the Qwest Arena box office or by calling 208.331.TIXS. Full-season and partial-season ticket plans remain available as well. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
