Florida's Reed Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Florida Everblades right wing Harrison Reed is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 23-29.

The 21 year old had seven goals and 12 points in four games to help Florida go 3-0-1 and improve to 11-7-3 and second place in the South Division.

Selected in the third round (93rd overall) by Carolina in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Hurricanes, Reed scored at least two points in all four games beginning with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win at Wheeling on Nov. 25. After scoring three points (1g-2a) in a 6-3 win at Toledo on Nov. 27, he had a hat trick and an assist on Nov. 28 at Kalamazoo and three points (2g-1a) on Nov. 29 at Kalamazoo.

He has seven goals, five assists and 12 points in four games for the Everblades while also playing in the American Hockey League where he has two assists in 19 games for Albany.

The Newmarket, Ontario native had two points (1g-1a) in one game for Florida as a rookie in 2008-09 while also playing for Albany where he had nine points (5g-4a) in 70 games.

On behalf of Harrison Reed, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 23,100 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
