Idaho's Beauchemin Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Rejean Beauchemin of the Idaho Steelheads is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Nov. 23-29.

He also won the award for Oct. 15-18 and as a rookie on Apr. 3, 2006.

The 24 year old started two games in three nights against Stockton and was 2-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 0.50 and a save percentage of.980. Beauchemin made 23 saves in a 2-1 win on Nov. 25 and stopped all 27 shots in a 1-0 win on Nov. 27.

Beauchemin is 6-1-0 and leads the league with a goals-against average of 1.86 and a save percentage of.929 while his one shutout ties him for fourth.

He has played five seasons in the ECHL and is 53-49-10 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.80 and a.916 save percentage in 121 games for Bakersfield, Dayton, Idaho and Trenton.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has also played in the American Hockey League where he has one shutout and a goals-against average of 3.25 in 24 games with Houston, Manitoba and Philadelphia.

Runners Up: Timo Pielmeier, Bakersfield (2-0-0, 1.50 GAA,.955 save pct.) and Braden Holtby, South Carolina (3-0-0, 2.33 GAA,.941 save pct.).
